I’ve seen people post compelling evidence that there’s been widespread unexplained vote tally inconsistencies that correlate with “Russian tail” patterns, like that Arizona group that is attempting to get their state vote investigated - but it seems like the electoral integrity investigators are literally being fired via Trump’s/DOGE’s purity culls, so that’s stalled. At the same time, Democrats and public figures that have the power to raise hell about it are biting their tongue because they don’t want to claim the election may have been tampered with lacking solid evidence; worried they’ll be undermining confidence in future elections.

• White voters swung 1% increasing their vote to 56%
• Black voters doubled their vote (wtf) from 8% to 16%.
• Latino voters also increased their vote 8% (wtf) from 35% to 43%
• Even ‘all other races’ increased their vote from 39% to 41%.

So you just watched that spear get thrown at you and then you took time deciding to categorise it as fascism. Now you’re taking a bunch of time explaining that your definition of fascism is a weirdly all-encompassing version of it that fits both left and right and ignores historians and scholars. Everyone knew the Republicans ‘hands’ back before the federal election too - they haven’t suddenly switched their platform or policies. Nothing has changed. You make it sound like there was vaguery in the leadup?

It would fail the vote either way, as a constitutional amendment requires a supermajority vote - and there has not been a supermajority in the Senate since 1979. Which was the last time the Democrats successfully put through an amendment, before anyone further complains they do nothing with power when they get it.

Depending on how jaded you are this is either a stunt, or the particular (left-leaning?) Democrats involved in tabling the legislation are trying to raise the issue their constituents have asked them to. Either way it’ll force the Republicans to show their hand and all vote against it.
